M.O. Group, a leading Egyptian confectionery and chocolate manufacturer, announced the signing of new export contracts with six additional countries — including Belgium, Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands, Chile, and Brazil — along with new clients from the United States. The agreements were concluded during the company’s participation in Anuga 2025, the world’s largest food industry exhibition, held in Cologne, Germany, from October 4 to 8.

Comprehensive Production Upgrades and New Product Launches

Hamdy ElAbrak, Chairman of M.O. Group, revealed that the company has recently implemented a comprehensive development plan aimed at strengthening its global competitiveness. The plan included upgrading production lines and adopting advanced manufacturing technologies in line with international quality and food safety standards.

ElAbrak emphasized that these measures are part of a clear strategy to expand the company’s export share and strengthen its presence in new international markets. He added that M.O. Group has increased its production capacity to meet the rising demand from foreign markets, particularly following its expansion across Europe and Asia.

He further noted that the group showcased several newly developed products at Anuga 2025, specifically designed for global markets, underscoring that developing a globally competitive Egyptian product remains the cornerstone of the group’s growth strategy for the coming years.

Successful Egyptian Participation and Pharaonic-Inspired Displays

Mohamed Habib, Business Development Consultant at M.O. Group, stated that the company currently exports to over 40 countries worldwide and produces a full range of confectionery, gums, and lollipops. He described Anuga as one of the most significant international platforms for the company’s expansion strategy.

Habib added that Egypt’s participation in this year’s edition was highly successful, as M.O. Group held numerous bilateral meetings with clients from the U.S., Europe, East Asia, and Africa, which are expected to open new market opportunities and broaden the company’s client base.

He also revealed that M.O. Group introduced innovative Pharaonic-themed products, including chocolate molded in designs inspired by ancient Egyptian civilization, alongside exclusive items created especially for the exhibition. The company, he said, plans to expand its presence in upcoming editions of major global trade fairs.

New Export Deals and Global Market Expansion

Meanwhile, Ahmed Saleh, Export Director at M.O. Group, confirmed that the company successfully concluded export contracts with partners in Germany, Denmark, and Norway, in addition to agreements with major U.S. importers specializing in confectionery. He noted that these deals represent an important step toward expanding the company’s international footprint.

Saleh added that the exhibition provided an ideal platform to strengthen trade relations with new partners across Europe and Asia, highlighting the strong interest of importers in high-quality Egyptian products.

He stressed that the diversity of the newly added markets reflects growing confidence in Egyptian-made goods and their competitiveness on the global stage. Looking ahead, Saleh noted that M.O. Group aims to further expand into Latin American, Russian, and Kazakh markets, as part of a strategic plan to boost exports and enhance the global presence of the M.O. Group brand.

Strong Egyptian Presence and New Export Support Mechanism

The Anuga 2025 exhibition concluded in Cologne after five days of intensive activities that showcased the strength and global competitiveness of Egypt’s food industry. The Egyptian pavilion featured more than 106 participating companies, in addition to around 20 individual exhibitors.

This year also marked the first implementation of Egypt’s new export support system, introduced by the government to enhance exporters’ participation in international exhibitions. The three-year initiative provides targeted financial and logistical assistance, enabling companies to plan ahead and participate more effectively in key global events such as Anuga, Gulfood, and SIAL.

The new framework also includes expanded funding for trade missions, buyer invitations, and promotional campaigns — all designed to help achieve the national goal of increasing Egyptian exports and strengthening their global footprint.
