Egyptian-Swiss Group for Pasta, Milling, and Concentrates has earned the title of fastest-growing company in sauce exports for 2023 through its subsidiary, Egyptian-Swiss Concentrates. The company has significantly expanded its presence, entering new markets and increasing its customer base in nearly 40 countries.

Egyptian-Swiss Honored at First Food Exporters Conference

The Food Export Council recognized Egyptian-Swiss Concentrates at the inaugural Food Exporters Conference in the category of companies with exports ranging between $5 million and $10 million.

This honor was awarded in recognition of the company’s remarkable growth rates in 2023, along with its ability to enter diverse markets across Africa, Asia, Europe, and Latin America.

Growth Rates and Expansion into New Markets

Eng. Ahmed El-Sebai, General Manager of the Egyptian-Swiss Group for Pasta, Milling, and Concentrates, announced that the group achieved over 100% growth in sauce exports during 2022 and 2023.

He added, “Egyptian-Swiss Concentrates has successfully entered more than 20 African countries, along with expanding into Latin American and East Asian markets recently.”

El-Sebai noted that this award will give the group a strong impetus to further accelerate export growth in the coming period, aiming to win awards for its pasta and flour products as well.

He explained that the awards introduced by the council during the first Food Exporters Conference will stimulate competition among companies to increase their export rates. This, in turn, will contribute to boosting Egyptian exports overall, enhancing product quality, and improving global competitiveness.

El-Sebai praised the active role played by the Food Export Council in recent years, particularly through successful trade missions organized in collaboration with the Commercial Representation Authority. These missions have significantly contributed to increasing exports and attracting new buyers in various markets, in addition to Egypt’s notable participation in specialized international exhibitions.

He highlighted the group’s commitment to participating in various international exhibitions organized by the council. This month, the company will take part in the Private Label Middle East Expo in the UAE, the SIAL exhibition in France, and the Food Africa exhibition in December.

Opportunities to Double Egyptian Sauce Exports

El-Sebai pointed out the considerable potential for doubling Egyptian sauce exports in the coming years, citing the competitiveness of the Egyptian product and the year-round cultivation of tomatoes in Egypt.

Supporting the Industry and Increasing Dollar Revenues

El-Sebai emphasized the importance of supporting this industry due to its capacity to increase dollar revenues from exports. He noted that sauce production relies on over 95% local ingredients, a figure that could rise to 100% with the availability of locally produced packaging materials.

Egyptian-Swiss Sponsors the First Food Exporters Conference

The Egyptian-Swiss Group for Pasta, Milling, and Concentrates announced its gold sponsorship of the first Food Exporters Conference, which featured a keynote speech by Minister of Investment Hassan El-Khatib, his first address since assuming office.

Exports Expected to Reach $6 Billion by 2024

During the conference, Eng. Hany Berzi, Chairman of the Food Export Council, stated that the food industry sector has achieved 23% growth this year, predicting that exports will reach $6 billion by 2024.

Encouraging Companies with Record Growth

Berzi stressed the importance of encouraging companies that achieve record growth in exports, particularly since Egypt ranks among the top global producers of around 13 key food products.

Conference Attendance

The conference was attended by Minister of Investment Eng. Hassan El-Khatib, Minister Plenipotentiary Yahia El-Wathik Bellah, Head of the Commercial Representation Authority, as well as heads of the Industrial Control Authority, Standards and Quality Organization, Food Safety Authority, and the Chamber of Food Industries.
