In a strategic move to bolster its global competitiveness, the Egyptian Swiss Group for Pasta, Milling, and Concentrates announced that it has obtained five new international quality certifications at the start of this year. The certifications are expected to enhance the company’s ability to expand into international markets, and the group has also renewed two additional certifications during the same period.
Boosting Global Market Expansion
Eng. Mahmoud Mostafa, Quality and Food Safety Director at the Egyptian Swiss Group for Pasta, Milling, and Concentrates, stated that the newly acquired certifications open new export opportunities for the group, enabling access to high-demand global markets such as the United States, Europe, and Islamic countries.
He explained that the certifications include the FDA (U.S. Food and Drug Administration) approval, which qualifies the company to export its products to the U.S. market—a crucial benchmark for food product compliance in the United States.
The group also obtained the FSSC 22000 certification, one of the most globally recognized food safety standards, allowing it to penetrate markets that require strict compliance with food safety and quality protocols.
Additionally, the group received the Egyptian Halal Certificate, ensuring that its products meet the requirements for export to Islamic countries, where halal standards are critical for market access.
Occupational Health and Environmental Standards
On a related note, Eng. Sameh Afify, Health and Safety Director at the Egyptian Swiss Group for Pasta, Milling, and Concentrates, emphasized that these certifications are a strategic step toward strengthening the group’s global presence. He noted that such accreditations simplify the process of entering new export agreements and enable the company to upgrade its production systems in line with the most demanding international standards.
He added that the group was also awarded the ISO 14001:2015 certification for environmental management systems, demonstrating its commitment to minimizing environmental impact and carbon emissions across its industrial operations.
In addition, the group secured the ISO 45001:2018 certification for occupational health and safety management, underscoring its focus on maintaining a safe and healthy workplace environment that enhances overall productivity and compliance.
Sustained Commitment to Quality and Growth
The company also renewed its ISO 9001:2015 certification for quality management systems, affirming its ongoing pursuit of operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
Likewise, the ISO 22000:2018 certification for food safety management was renewed, reaffirming the group’s dedication to applying the highest food safety standards in production and distribution, thereby strengthening trust among local and international customers.
Eng. Mahmoud Mostafa concluded by stating that the group aims to leverage these certifications to increase its export share in markets such as Europe, the United States, the Gulf region, and Africa, by offering products that meet top-tier international standards.
He added, “The Egyptian Swiss Group for Pasta, Milling, and Concentrates remains fully committed to applying the highest standards of quality and sustainable development, ensuring it remains competitive on a global scale and maintains its position as a leading player in the pasta, milling, and food concentrates sector.”
