Madinet Masr, one of Egypt’s leading urban community developers, congratulates The Masters Handball Team, which it proudly sponsors, for winning third place in The Masters Handball World Cup 2024 for former handball players in Croatia. The championship took place from May 22nd to 26th in Omiš, Croatia, with the participation of over 1,500 former handball players from 17 countries around the world.
The Masters Handball Team achieved victory after playing six matches, winning against the Bosnian team “HRK IZVIĐAC” and the Irish team “Celtic Legends” with scores of 9-4 and 14-2, respectively. In the final match, the team won over the Bosnian team with a score of 12-11. The team also achieved positive results by drawing with the Egyptian team “Gezira Social Club” and the Romanian team “Golden Boys” with scores of 10-10 and 8-8, respectively. As a testament to his performance, Wagih Tarek was named “The Most Valuable Player” of the tournament. The team’s perseverance and determination led to their victory despite the obstacles they faced, including the absence of seven main players due to delays in obtaining their travel visas.
