Nature Drops for Sterilization is showcasing, during its participation in the activities of the Africa Food Ingredients Exhibition Fi Africa, held from June 2 to 4, 2026, the latest technologies for sterilizing medicinal and aromatic plants using Infra red-light technology. This comes as part of the company’s plan to expand the provision of sterilization and processing services for medicinal and aromatic plants, and to support Egyptian exporters in reaching foreign markets, especially Europe and the United States, through technical solutions focused on preserving product quality and its natural properties.

Engineer Khaled Masalati, Chairman of Nature Drops for Sterilization, said the company is currently working with major producers and exporters of medicinal and aromatic plants, including SEKEM, which is considered one of the most prominent companies operating in the fields of organic agriculture and medicinal and aromatic plants. He pointed out that the company has received samples from a large number of exporting companies for cooperation in applying the sterilization technology to medicinal and aromatic plants.

Masalati added that there are ongoing meetings and follow-ups with clients and partners, ensuring the provision of a technical service capable of meeting exporters’ requirements, especially in light of the tightening of global markets regarding health and environmental requirements related to agricultural and natural products.

Masalati indicated that Nature Drops is currently working to obtain the Organic Processing certification, which qualifies the company’s station to be registered and accredited in the processing and manufacturing of organic products. He stressed that this certification represents a fundamental step for receiving organic raw materials and processing them inside the station according to internationally accredited standards.

He confirmed that the company is preparing, during the next few weeks, for the station to be qualified as a certified organic facility, so that it can deal with any client who provides organic raw materials and wishes to process or sterilize them inside an accredited facility. This represents one of the most important files the company is working on during the current stage.

Masalati revealed that there is ongoing cooperation with specialized German entities, including a number of the largest laboratories and testing facilities in Europe, with the aim of carrying out verification and accreditation tests for the Infra red-light technology used inside the company. He noted that this cooperation includes precise technical procedures to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of the technology.

He said that cooperation with the German laboratories is based on carrying out what is known as the validation process, meaning verifying the effectiveness of the sterilization method and measuring the microbial load before and after treatment, with the aim of obtaining accredited results proving that the sterilization method using Infra red-light technology is effective and feasible, and capable of reducing microbial load while preserving the natural properties of the product.

Masalati emphasized that the technology used by Nature Drops for Sterilization is new to the Middle East, and that the company is not only waiting for an existing market, but is also seeking to create a new market for these services by offering a different solution that meets the needs of exporters looking for higher quality and greater ability to enter international markets.

For his part, Mohamed Nour Bawadkji, co-founder of Nature Drops for Sterilization, said the company focuses, in the sterilization method it provides using Infra red-light technology, on a number of key advantages, foremost among them preserving the product’s color and the essential oils inside it, as they are among the most important value elements in medicinal and aromatic plants.

Bawadkji added that preserving color and essential oils represents a major strength for any exporter dealing with European or American markets, because it gives him a better ability to negotiate and obtain a higher price in export deals, as a result of offering a product that maintains its natural properties and quality.

He explained that this advantage is not easy to achieve, especially in the medicinal and aromatic plants sector, where products are quickly affected by traditional processing methods, whether in terms of color, aroma, or the percentage of essential oils. He pointed out that the technology provided by the company aims to address these challenges.

He indicated that Nature Drops’ participation in events related to the sector, including international and specialized exhibitions, contributed to introducing its services to a larger number of companies and exporters. It also enabled the company to prepare introductory seminars on the new technology, which strengthened the presence of the new technology and cooperation with major producers and exporters of medicinal and aromatic plants.

Bawadkji stressed that Nature Drops for Sterilization focuses mainly on major producers and exporters operating in the medicinal and aromatic plants sector, as they are the category most in need of certifications, accreditations, and sterilization technologies that help them enter foreign markets.

He concluded by affirming that Nature Drops seeks to establish its position as a technical partner for exporters, by combining modern technology, international accreditations, and an understanding of market needs, opening the door to a new phase in developing medicinal and aromatic plant sterilization services in Egypt and the region.
