The October 6 Technological University honored the Egyptian Swiss Group for Pasta, Milling, and Concentrates in recognition of its role in supporting students, creating training opportunities, and actively contributing to the university’s first employment forum, “Career Gate 1.0,” which brought together nearly 50 companies from the food industries, technology, and textile sectors.
The recognition was presented by Prof. Dr. Heba Farouk Salem, President of October 6 Technological University, during the forum hosted by the university in the presence of academic leaders and private-sector representatives.
The event was organized as part of the university’s efforts to strengthen connections between students and the labor market while opening new horizons for professional training and career development.
The university president highlighted the institution’s commitment to aligning education with market demands through cooperation with private-sector companies and government entities to provide practical training opportunities for students. She noted that these efforts aim to prepare qualified professionals in line with Egypt’s Vision 2030 and support sustainable resource development.
During the forum, Engineer Ahmed El Sebaie delivered an awareness lecture to students on the importance of linking academic studies with labor market requirements. He stressed that companies today seek practical skills alongside theoretical knowledge amid the rapid changes taking place in local and global employment markets.
El Sebaie pointed out that building practical experience early and engaging in continuous learning and training are essential factors in enhancing students’ readiness for future career opportunities. He also emphasized the importance of developing communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills, describing them as among the most in-demand competencies sought by employers.
He explained that the labor market no longer depends solely on academic grades, but increasingly focuses on graduates’ ability to apply knowledge practically and adapt to different work environments. He encouraged students to use their university years to gain experience and build strong professional networks.
El Sebaie also praised the active role played by October 6 Technological University since its launch in 2022, particularly its efforts to meet labor market needs by preparing skilled technical talents across various sectors, including medical industries, while integrating technology into the industrial sector.
The forum witnessed the participation of several companies and institutions that showcased available training and employment opportunities, in addition to hosting introductory sessions and professional lectures aimed at raising students’ awareness of future labor market requirements and the importance of early career preparation.
